6 tips to survive your long flight

As some of you may know, we are going to Vietnam in a couple of days. And from here that’s a very long flight! The first flight I took was about 2 years ago and not longer than an hour. So I went looking for some tips to help me through the flight. So for me and everyone else that’s going to spent a lot of time in an airplane this summer; 6 tips to survive your long flight.

1. Drink a lot!
Because the air conditioner in a plane makes the air very dry it’s important to drink a lot. And with drinking I mean water! Alcohol and coffee will only dehydrated your body. You should start drinking more than usual a couple hours before you take off.

2. Changing time
If you change the time on your phone or watch (to the time of your destination) the moment you step into the plane, your brain has hours to get used to the change. Which means you’ll have less of a jet leg at your holiday destination.

3. Eating
Don’t eat to heavy or too much before and during your flight. Your digestion will slow down during your time in the air, since your body is trying to get used to its new surroundings. Which means that if you eat too much, you might run into some problems after landing.

4. Moving
Move around during your time in an airplane. It will make you less stiff, but it will also keep you fit and relaxed. Go to the bathroom regularly, even if you don’t have to

5. Fresh
Be well prepared and put an toothbrush, some toothpaste and wet wipes in your hand luggage. You can also take clean underwear, a fresh t-shirt and socks with you. So when you land you’ll look like you’ve been in the air for only 10 minutes.

6. Clothes
Did you know you gain a whole shoe size in the time between boarding and landing.  So if you kick your shoes out during the flight you might not fit into them when you get to your destination. So wear comfortable shoes. Comfortable clothes to, nothing is worse than sitting in to tight jeans for 17 hours. There’s nothing wrong with sweatpants.

So make sure you drink a lot, change the time on your phone, eat light, move around, fresh up and wear comfy clothes.
