Some time ago my boyfriend and I went on a road trip to France. We had an amazing time camping, driving and exploring. And I'd love to share our experiences with you.
Some months ago, my boyfriend and me went on holiday to France. It was the first time
we went on holiday with just the two of us. Our first stop was Gent. We walked
around in this beautiful city and ate a croque monsieur under the sun. We
promised ourselves to get back to that city one day before we got back in the little red car.
We spent
the first and second night in Wimereux. That’s a small town just above Boulogne-sur-mer
at the west coast. Of course we weren’t there at peak season, but the town
really looked like it wasn’t touristy. It was quiet, the houses were colourful
and the citizens were very busy with catching mussels. The little red car, our
tent and we stayed at the campsite: L’Olympic. It was a very quiet and green
camping and just a 5 minute walk from the beach.
From there
we went to la Coupole. La Coupole is a subterranean complex built in
world war ll. It was intended for storage and launch preparation of V2-rockets.
In 2015 they built a number of exhibition spaces and two cinema halls. They
provide an overview of the secret weapons of the Nazi empire, the concentration
camps, the liberation of northern France, the invasion of 1940, daily life
during world war II, the Resistance, the man on the moon and more. It was very impressive and informative to
walk around in la Coupole and see a movie about D-day.
Next, we went to Le Mont-Saint-Michel!
