Olive Trees

Olive trees are very trendy these days, especially indoors. They have a green-grayish colour and go with almost every interior. They are rustic and can bright up a minimalistic room.
But how do you take care of them?

They need 6 hours of daylight a day, so you should to put them on a sunny place. But they aren't very fond of being close to the heater, the window and other ventilation holes. So make sure you pick a good place for your new olive tree.
The trees love moisture-permeable clay but they will also grow well in sandy soil.
Make sure you don’t give them too much water. Only give them water when the soil is dry on the surface. Approximately they need water 3 to 4 times a week.
They need to be pruned in the spring, but only when the branches are 3 to 4 years old. When you do decide to prude them, you should let the branches at least 20 centimeters long.

The leaves of the olive tree won’t fall out in autumn, but if you change the living space of the tree it can go in shock and let his leaves go. Don’t worry, if you keep taking care of him, the leaves will grow back.
